I like it in that it can clear out the codes from the computer thus turning off the check engine light. There is a disc that comes with it to cross reference the codes or you can google the codes to see what they refer to.
If you want a cheap diagnostics tool just to read the codes then I would recommend this product.

I received this scan tool about a week ago and used it on my father's S10 truck yesterday. This code reader is easy to use - just follow the included instructions. The tool looks durable and is very portable, small enough to stick into your pocket. At a fraction of the cost of a scan tool at the local parts shop down the road, I am very pleased with my purchase. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is that the included CD, which is suppose to give a detailed description of the OBDII codes, does not load when I put the disk into my laptop. The CD software prompts for the trouble code, but does not display any information. But the booklet that came with the scan tool lists the generic code info, and I have my own shop manual that contains OBDII code information too.
